Plan an AI agent before building it in any agent platform.
Answer each
- Job: what single job does the agent do?
- Trigger: what starts it — a message, form, email, schedule?
- Inputs: what information does it receive?
- Tools: what can it use — search, calendar, spreadsheet, email?
- Output: what does it produce and where does it go?
- Guardrails: what must it never do? When does it hand off to a human?
- Success: how will you know it worked?
Example
- Job: qualify website leads. Trigger: contact form. Tools: web search, CRM. Output: lead score + summary emailed to you. Guardrail: never promise prices.
